MaSS graduates pursue careers in a wide array of fields, including market research, management and educational consulting, non-profit research, public policy advocacy, and social justice media development. The MaSS program works closely with distinguished leaders across diverse employment sectors to insure that MaSS graduates are prepared for the most sought-after professional opportunities available in their chosen fields.
The MaSS program offers a series of Professional Development workshops throughout the academic year on topics such as resume-writing, interview skills, networking strategies, and navigating professional platforms like LinkedIn.
Each spring, the MaSS program hosts a series of talks followed by informal conversation with potential employers from diverse industries. These events create a unique forum to learn about employment opportunities, to network with industry leaders, and to discover how to apply the MaSS training in a professional research career.
MaSS students enjoy full access to UCLA’s extensive career services, including individual counseling sessions and invitations to participate in career fairs and networking events.
FURTHER GRADUATE STUDY
The MaSS program offers students the opportunity to explore social science research through an interdisciplinary lens. The program is ideally suited for students seeking to explore a variety of social science disciplines before determining whether to apply to a PhD program in a specific area after completion of the MaSS degree. Each spring, the program offers a group workshop and provides individual consultations to interested students in how to succeed in the PhD application process.
